Experience Working As A Leader In Organizations:
Dan Bowdey was promoted to Vice President of Operations and Executive Vice President within two steel fabrication and field installation businesses. He directed departments doing research and development, engineering and design, supply chain, facilities, scheduling and forecasting, heavy and light manufacturing, and field installation. He also oversaw the functions of Human Resources, Employee Benefits, Safety, and Quality. He held ownership stakes in both businesses (50% in one) and was in charge of preparing both businesses to be sold; one to an inside buyer, the other to a private equity group.
Coaching And Facilitation Background:
Along his journey to becoming an executive, Dan developed a coaching style of leadership that empowers team members to develop as problem solvers, resulting in very high employee retention rates. This is very much the Leadscape Learning Navigational Conversations “way”. Now as a certified business coach and trainer with FocalPoint International, Dan is both a speaker and training facilitator. He has presented a series of workshops and multi-day courses on a variety of topics to various companies, business and trade associations, and service clubs. These include Navigational Conversations, Eat That Frog, Perform at Your Best, Managing Your Time, Setting and Achieving Goals, Superior Sales Management, Superior Selling Skills, and Strategic Leadership. Dan utilizes a variety of communication, motivation, and skills assessments as tools, both to prepare for and explain during company team workshops on Communication Breakthrough and Sales Breakthrough. He also presents to lunch and learn groups on a wide variety of business principles and best practices such as Life Cycles of a Business, Business Readiness for Sale, The Law of Self Control, The Oz Principle, The Carnegie Triangle, and others. Dan continues to hone his advanced presentation skills in his local Toastmasters Club.
Relevant Business Experience:
Dan has authored employee manuals, policies and procedures, and mentored new and seasoned leaders on best practices. Dan is active in a professional leadership development group, National Organization of Trusted Advisors, being exposed to personal development talks monthly, often being the presenter himself. FocalPoint International provides Dan ongoing mentoring and training, up to 250 hours per year, much of which centers around leadership.
Education And Training:
Dan holds bachelor degrees in Industrial Engineering and Personnel Management. He earned his MBA at night and on weekends while in the corporate world. Gaining his credentials as a FocalPoint Coach and Trainer has led him to take the same courses he now facilitates. Dan is sought out daily to enhance the leadership in his client’s businesses.
